Gas Fires

The main consideration when choosing a gas fire will be the compatibility with your existing flue provisions. It is wise to have an on site survey by a Gas Safe registered gas installer before you begin because brochures cannot provide the depth of information you need to successfully and safely choose your fireplace.

With many gas fires from leading manufacturers customers can now choose from a vast range to suit everyones price range and circumstances. Todays fires offer a the impact of living flames, excellent heat output and complete control eg, remote control, touch/lever control or manual control. Now with the introduction of flueless gas fires, customer can now have a gas fire without the need for a chimney or flue system.

Whether your choice is for a gas fire that creates the realism of burning coals and logs or a contemporary gas fire design with both radiant and convected heat, safety is assured via the mandatory testing that all gas fire manufacturers must comply with.

Gas Safe Register replaced the CORGI gas register in Great Britain and the Isle of Man on 1 April 2009. There is only one gas safety register that you need to use.  Look for the yellow Gas Safe Register triangle not the orange CORGI registration badge. Anyone carrying out work on gas must be registered with Gas Safe Register. If not, they are breaking the law and putting you and your family at risk. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer is legally allowed to install gas appliances, boilers, hobs, ovens or fires in your home or workplace. You must only use a Gas Safe registered engineer for any type of gas work, including installation, maintenance and servicing.
